The Vietnamese celebrated Tet, the lunar New Year just a few days ago. Tet is an exciting event as thousands of Vietnamese oversea fly back to their homeland each year to feel the warm spirit of the holiday.
This year's Tet fell on Monday, January 26th. Traditionally, Vietnamese take a three days off from work to celebrate Tet. Businesses are normally closed from three to ten days for the holiday. Thousand flock to the temple to pray for good fortune and a good year. Children put on new clothes and go around town to wish their relatives a prosper New Year and receive "lì xì", a red envolope containing brand new $10, $20, $50 bill etc.

Bùa Chú
As people in Viet Nam burn fire cracker to ward off evil for the New Year, the Vietnamese Ga Noi Association would like to ward off evil with our belove cock Bùa Chú. His name in Vietnamese means an amulet, a charm, juju, fetish, talisman that a witch normally use to perform magic.
