|Mr. Tu's Warrior|
Ganoi.com uses statistic to select featured cock.
The data include total points, comments and other ratios.
Mathematically, the cock that has the best overall statistic will make its way to the front page.
This blue hennie belongs to Mr. Tu who live in Viet Nam. Mr. Tu is a well known cocker who live near Saigon. He has a ganoi's farm with several full time employees. This cock is a 2 time winner. Its image in the gallery has generated 34 comments, six perfect score of "10" and two "9" for a total of 78 points.
Đạo Kê (Way of ganoi)|
Cockfighting in Vietnam has a long tradition and its way is called Đạo Kê. The word Đạo means "the way". It can also means "religion" as in Đạo Phật (Buddist religion or the way of Buddism), Đạo Chúa (Christian religion or the way of Christian)
Beginning this month, We will examine over 200 verses of Đạo Kê. (not to be mistaken for Kê Kinh which is a separate document on the same subject)
Hậu biên yến quản đồng hành
Giáp long chi tự điềm lành hữu linh
Âm minh thư đoản tài tình
Âm minh hùng đoản thanh vang hổ gầm
Hổ gầm khẩu chớ lặng câm
Hoặc rung khẩu hạ biết ra vẹn toàn.....
1. Hậu biên yến quản đồng hành
The row of "Biên" and "Hậu" march togather from the knee to the base of the feet. Hậu scales continue to run without disruption to form the scales of the outer toe. This illustration is of the left feet of the fowl. Fowl with such scales pattern is consider good.
2. Giáp long chi tự điềm lành hữu linh
Giáp Long means dragon scale. Fowl that has scales in the form of in their brace toe is consider good. This scale pattern was featured in November 2004 home page.
3. Âm minh thư đoản tài tình
Âm = sound
thư = high pit
đoản = short
tài = talented
Fowl that crow with high pit ending abruptly is talented.
4. Âm minh hùng đoản thanh vang hổ gầm
Hùng = strong, loud voice
Hổ gầm = tiger roar
Fowl that has loud, deep crow that end abruptly is also consider to be excellent.
5. Hổ gầm khẩu chớ lặng câm
Fowl that open their mouth widely during the crowing is preferable.
6. Hoặc rung khẩu hạ biết ra vẹn toàn
Perfection is reached if the lower beak does not vibrate during the crowing.
To be continue next month.......
Color theory continue...
Eastern philosophy recognizes an unchange natural law from the beginning of time to present.
It is believed that the universe is made up of the main five natural elements. No element is greater than the other and togather they form a relationship to control life. In this last portion, we will furthur examine their relationship.
The producing relationship:
Plant can not survive without water. Beginning with water, we have the following:
Water give life to plant. (Water =>Wood)
Wood is the root cause that produce fire. (Wood =>Fire)
Burning fire produce ashes that produce earth. (Fire =>Earth)
Earth produce iron such as gold, aluminum...etc, (Earth =>Iron)
When iron get heated up, they become water. (Iron =>Water)
The theory is sumarized below:
Water =>Wood =>Fire=>Earth=>Iron=>Water.
The terminating relationship:
Earth can fill water so earth rule over water. (Earth =>Water)
Water can put out fire so water rule over fire. (Water =>Fire)
Fire can heat up iron into liquid so fire rule over iron. (Fire =>Iron)
Iron tool such as axe and knife can cut tree so iron rule over wood. (Iron =>Wood)
Tree consume earth so wood rule over earth (Wood =>Earth)
The complete circle is as below:
Earth =>Water => Fire => Iron => Wood => Earth.
Yellow cock (Earth) is superior to black cock (Water)
Black cock is superior to Red cock (Fire)
Red cock is superior to White cock (Iron)
White cock is superior to Grey cock (Wood)
Grey cock is superior to Yellow cock (Earth)
The stronger force kill the weaker:
Iron: Iron meet iron = tool
A tool made of iron such as drill can make a hole in a sheet of metal. But the drill must be made by a more superior material than the sheet of metal in order to cause such a hole. Stronger iron rule over weaker iron.
Wood: Bigger tree kill smaller tree:
Bigger tree blockout the sunlight and kill smaller tree.
Water: Stronger stream kill smaller stream
When two stream or river meet, the bigger one took out the smaller one.
Fire: Stronger fire took out smaller fire.
When two fire meet each other, the stronger one consume the smaller.
Earth: lower land get filled.
A valley can get filled by a mountain.
So in theory, when two fowls of the same color meet, the one that has strongger color will beat out the weaker one. An intense red fowl will beat out a lighter red fowl.
The relationship with seasons:
During the Spring, all plants are at their strongest growing period. The tree consume water so water is at their weakest period. Earth is also at their low point because of the consumption by tree. This is the best period to fight your green or grey cocks (wood) and the worst period to fight black (water) and yellow cock (earth).
During the Summer, the heat is greatest and it is the best time to fight your red cock (fire).
During the Autum, the weather is cool and it is best to fight your white cock (iron)
During the winter it is best to fight your black cock (water)
The special months of 3, 6, 9, 12 is for yellow cock. (earth)
Gà ô đá chiều, gà điều đá sáng. (fight your black cock in the afternoon, the red cock in the morning)
All material relating to ga noi on this website is applicable to ga noi only. It may or may not hold true for other type of fowl.
Scale reading is the study of the legs of gà nòi as recorded in Kê Kinh.
The word "nòi" means bloodline so their bloodline must be fully known.
The examination of fowl include: Head, body, tail, and legs. Scale reading is only part of the art and therefore must be examined in consideration of other factors. This include the conditioning of the cocks, their diet, age...etc. It is unwise to rely on special scale to pit cock in bad condition expecting to win. A rule of thumb is: Given everything being equal, a cock with special scale indicate special talent.
