Could some one post pics of this color Aseel, and explain what to look for to identify? As I have heard this term refers not only to color but to the marking patterns as well. Please both male and female.THANKS!!! _________________ Dont put off til tomarrow what you can do today, because if you do it today and like it, you can do it again tomarrow. |

That is the most unusual color I have ever seen in an Asil.

i have searched all the 800+ hens on ganoi but could not find real color Pattern. Shikra is a sub line of Sajra. They occasionally come out of Sajra color. (Sajra means ornamented...they are golden mixed with other colors in beautiful patterns..laced verities also). Its pretty hard to fix color in asil...especially with some special pattern. Hen must be yellow and greyish with thin black pattern on the chest. the closest match i found is

Nick I think most of your Viper hens(except the Barja, and the Noorie colored ones) could be considered Shikra, wether laced like Chara or not laced like Medicine Woman. Interesting enough I have yet seen a Viper cock colored like the links above show. Though in would not suprise me to see one come that color.
Could someone please post pics of this Sajra color?

Any color in lacing pattern is a variety of SAJRA or SHIKRA.
REZA RANCH
the bird in ur avatar is a peela sajra, meaning buff with lacing, the pic i posted above is a chitta skikra or white with lacing.thats how we describe them in our area, terms vary from place to place though. |

As i said earlier Colors in asil are never well defined. if we use fancy fowls color definitions the dashans cock is white laced while Avatar pic of Reza Ranch and naser sabbs hen are golden laced. they are further splittable into single laced and double laced. All laced verities and mixed but specific patrons of yellow, brown, golden and black (on breast) come under sajra tag. shikra is a sajra with a breast color patron like shikra/baz.
just type sajra in search tab in asil gallery and see results. :) |
